The Outremer 64 Light named Malisi, an Austrian flagged vessel, arrived in the Azores a few days ago after a passage from Bermuda in the World Cruising Club’s ARC Europe. While underway, Malisi diverted to assist with search efforts for Cheeki Rafiki, a 40 ft yacht returning to the UK after partiipation in the Antigua Race Week. Malisi Skipper Patrick Michel spotted debris in the northern part of the search area in the Atlantic, but the US Coast Guard has since abandoned the search for the four crew members. The overturned hull was sighted and divers found the life raft undeployed in the boat. Thanks to Malisi and approximately 40 other pleasure boats who assisted the US Coast Guard in the search process.
